Sin Is A Curse

Description

I plan on making a whole essay on the subject, so the description here will be more or less brief. I'll link to it whenever I get it finished. *EDIT* Nevermind, not doing it anymore. I think this stamp is enough. :P

Anyway, in our world today, death, suffering, etc are all seen as "natural", as it occurs all the time in nature. People have accepted the fact that people are not perfect and do bad things, but they do so thinking that it's a part of "human nature".

However, we must remember that things like death and pain are NOT natural. When God first created the world, He saw it as good. It wasn't until Adam and Eve sinned that God gave them death as a punishment for sin. Then, as humanity grew and sin grew with it, there was more suffering and pain.

You see, when God created man, He stopped for a minute to think of how He should do it. Instead of snapping His fingers to make something, like He did with the waters and land, and the creatures within them, He paused to say "Let us make man in Our Image." After creating Adam and Eve, God saw that they were good (i.e., perfect and without sin).

But then the serpent tricked Adam and Eve into eating from the Tree of Knowledge, saying that they were NOT like God at all. Even though God made them in His Image, he said that they were truly not divine, or good enough. He said "Eat from the tree and you will be like God." And despite what God told them, they believed it! They fell for it, and their rejection of their true humanity cursed the human race and all of creation.

Goodness, morality, and love are some of the many things that are natural for human beings. It was how God originally designed humans, and to embrace God's love and imitate Jesus as much as we can, we are embracing our true intended humanity. When we sin, we are doing the exact opposite: we are stomping on our human divinity, and losing trust in God when we say "I am not like You at all: I'm a sinner and I am not made in You're Image."

Sin is not something God programmed into us: it is something that is the result of something unnatural and evil. Because of this, humans have the temptation to do unnatural and evil things that further themselves from their true potential.

Instead of letting sin trick you into being something you were not made to be, lean on God to act and live as a true human, to the best of your abilities.

So instead of saying "I'm only human!" say instead, "I am human, and I know I can do it with God!"

Peace be with you!
